This past Sunday, I headed out for Jefferson City MO. to attend a friend from school's wedding. Mom came along to keep me company and to spend time with Aunt Becky in St. Louis. But, needless to say with both of us on the trip together, we did anything but just drive there and back. What's an adventure if you don't do anything along the way? Well, we took off early Sunday morning and by mid morning, we stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Effingham where we saw this awesome bug. Does that really qualify for parking in the RV spot there though? Posted by Picasa

The final destination.... Garrett and Christine's wedding. The whole thing went so smooth and it was really cute to see them so in love. It was well worth the drive. Congratulations Garrett and Christine! Posted by Picasa

Just east of St. Louis we stopped at the Cahokia Indian Mounds. I thought it was cool, but you really have to have an appreciation for the anthropological and archaeological importance of the site to make it anything more than just some big piles of dirt.

There are three hundred people and a chief buried under this mound. Yeah, that's not creepy. Posted by Picasa

From the top of Monk's Mound. The thing that I'm looking at off in the field that looks like a tarp laying on the ground was an in proccess archaeological dig that we checked out later. Posted by Picasa

Back in Indiana on the home stretch of interstate 70, we saw a sign for Cataract falls SRA and neither Mom nor I had the self restraint to pass on by. So we went. It was only about 15 minutes off the highway and turned out to be a nice little spot. This picture is of the upper falls near the entrance to the park. Posted by Picasa

A pump waterfountain. I don't know why, but I thought this was pretty cool. You pump until the pressure builds up a little and then you drink from the fountain part 'til the pressure is depleted.  Posted by Picasa
